​For kids entering K-5th Grade

Step One--REGISTER
To register for Summer Reading, click on the link above.  A welcome email will be sent to the Parent/Guardian with more information..  Summer Reading is a free program to build and maintain reading skills over the summer months.

Be sure to register each child. Parents/Guardians must have a library card and children can get a library card at parent's discretion. To get a library card, simply bring some ID showing Westwood residency. 

Step Two-- Each child registered for summer reading will receive a summer reading kit which will include a  "little" reading buddy and other goodies, plus a log sheet to keep of reading time.  Registered kids can pick up their summer kits at the kick off event on June 21 or anytime after.  Throughout the summer, kids can pick a prize  every time they visit the library and show on their log sheets two hours of reading completed.  In addition, kids will have opportunities to earn raffle tickets for a chance at bigger prizes.  Summer Reading Incentive program is for Westwood residents only.

Step Three--Read, read, read. Keep track of titles or time spent reading, then come to the library to pick up the prizes earned!
