Shy Touba Memorial Scholarship
Friends of the Westwood Library

While preference is given to applicants from Westwood, the program is open to anyone who resides in Westwood, the Pascack Valley or a community within the BCCLS system.

Completed application form (download form below) should be accompanied by:
  • Transcript of current courses and grades. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 credits from an accredited program at time of submission 
  • Personal statement of career goals
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Proof of residency in any eligible community

Deadline for submission is April 1, 2022.

Applicant must maintain a B average.

Payment of award will be made at the successful completion of the currently enrolled course(s).

Applicants will be reviewed by a committee of three.

The President of the Friends will review with the committee members the most promising applicants.  The President will have the final decision.

The award will be $3,000.00.

Notification will be sent to the award finalist from the President with an invitation to attend the May Friends meeting.  The treasurer of the Friends will be notified to prepare the check.

Announcement of the scholarship winner and award will be presented at the May meeting of the Friends.  Consideration will be given to having a public ceremony at the Library with the appropriate press.  A larger event my be held at the applicant's graduation.

Files will be maintained at the Library for all candidates for historical purposes.
