Junior Friends of the Westwood Library
The Friends of the Westwood Library is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed to actively support the library through advocating, fundraising and volunteering. To volunteer with the Library, please visit the Library and ask for and complete a Friends of the Library interest form. Or, come to one of the meetings, dates listed below.
The Junior Friends of the Westwood Library....
Is an ongoing volunteer program for Westwood students entering grade 7 and up. If you are interested in earning community service hours, build experience useful for future job and school applications, and making new friends, joining the Junior Friends is a great thing to do.
To register as a Junior Friend, click on the button below. Once registered, you will receive emails when there is an opportunity to volunteer. In addition, opportunities to volunteer will be posted on this page.
Meetings (2025-2026):
The Junior Friends meet once a month September thru June. Please register for each monthly meeting you can attend; each meeting earns an hour of community service. See the dates below and register by clicking on the date.
September 15 from 6-7pm (Meet and greet)
October 20 from 6-7pm
November 17 from 6-7pm
December 15 from 6-7pm
January 19 from 6-7pm
February 9 from 6-7pm
March 16 from 6-7pm

Volunteer Projects:
Teen volunteer opportunities are separated into different sign-up pages based on project type.
Choose from Program Help (assisting staff during events), Craft Prep (preparing materials behind the scenes), or Library Task (helping with general library support and organization). Click the link for the opportunity you’d like to sign up for. Keep checking back on these pages for updated volunteer opportunities.

Book Reviews:
Write a book review (up to 2 a month) and get 1 hour for every book read plus one hour for writing the review. Reviews must be between 200-400 words.
