Activities On Your Own Time for Grades K-5

Choose any activity to do on your own time and submit your completed activity or quiz score by 6:00 pm on Friday to denise.lester@westwood.bccls.org.  Please make sure the child’s name is on the document title to receive credit for the week’s participation prize.

• Write or illustrate a story with a sea monster as the main character.  Make it as long or short as you like then email your document to denise.lester@westwood.bccls.org


• Dive and Discover - Underwater Vehicles Visit this site:https://divediscover.whoi.edu/underwater-vehicles/ Interact with all three tabs: 1. “Three Types of Vehicles” 2. “How Deep Can We Go” and 3. “How Much Pressure”, then see how much you learned and  take the short quiz, screenshot your results and email to denise.lester@westwood.bccls.org.


• Build a Boat - Build an aluminum foil boat and test it to see how much weight it can hold while staying afloat. Take a picture of your boat with your testing objects and send it to denise.lester@westwood.bccls.org.  See more details here:  Build A Boat
