Databases for Early Literacy
Westwood Library is now hosting a teen center after school on Mon, Tue, and Wed from 3:00-5pm for 6th grade & up. Homework area, homework help, board games and other activities all available. Please call the library for more info: 201-664-0583.
Magical Melodies with Mr. Chris
Tuesdays, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM.
Songs and dance with Mr. Chris. Does your child like to move around and sing along? If so, this program is for you!
Ages 2-6. Please register. Limit 35 participants. Unfortunately, due to limited space, this program is for Westwood residents only. If you register, please attempt to attend all four sessions.
Pirates! with Jonathan Kruk, Master Storyteller and Jim Keyes, Musician
Thursday, 3/22 from 4:00 - 5:00 PM.
Two pirates, storyteller Jonathan and musician Jim, will share lore of buccaneers and privateers from Captain Kidd to Bonny Mary. Come sing a sea shanty with us!

When You Come to the Library
We're having Superhero March Madness! Come in each week to vote for your favorite superheroes. We will have five rounds of voting, until there is one victor!
Wee Ones Laptime: Fridays from 10:30 - 11:00 AM.
Stories, songs, and rhymes for caregivers and children from birth to about 2 years old.
Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.
Stories, songs, and a craft for caregivers and children about 2 years old.
Preschool Storytime: Wednesdays from 1:30 - 2:30 PM and Thrusdays from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.
Stories, songs, and a craft for caregivers and children about 3 - 5 years old.
Think Outside the Box
Coding Club: Every other week on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 4/26, 5/10, 5/24, 6/7.
We will learn to code using Scratch with CS First. Grades 3 - 5.
Please register. Limit 6 new participants. Plan to attend all 8 sessions.
Lego Club: Once a month on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Our March session is 3/8.
Build a Lego creation on a theme. Grades K and up.
Makerspace: Fridays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM.
Craft! Build! Discover! Create! We have a new project each week. Strictly 3rd grade and up.

The Parent/Child Book Group is open to children in 4th-6th grade-ish (and anyone else who likes the book) and a parent. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:30 - 8:30 PM. You can pick up a copy of each month's book at the Westwood Public Library. Just ask Miss Katherine, or anyone at circulation.

1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN: The Westwood Library is a participating library in BCCLS' 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Does it sound hard? If you read just one book a night, you will have read 365 books a year, 730 books in 2 years, and 1,095 books in 3 years. Plenty of time! You can even read a book more than once! Reach 1000 book and receive an invite to an annual BCCLS-wide party. Get reading logs at the Library to keep track of your progress.
