Databases for Early Literacy
Monthly Theme Read
Each month, read a book on a theme and turn in a three to five sentence review for a chance to win a prize. June's theme is "High Fantasy." You can ask Miss Katherine for recommendations.
Wee Ones Laptime: will return on Fridays starting June 30. Songs and stories for caregiver and child.
Toddler Storytime: will return Thursdays at 10:30 starting June 29.
Stories, songs, and a craft for caregivers and little ones about 2 years old.
Sleepy Storytime: Mondays at 7:30 PM. July 10-August 14
Conducted by Junior Friend Volunteers. For kids ages 2-6. No registration.

Think Outside the Box
Grade K-2 Mondays at 3:30pm July 24 - August 14
Grade 3-5 Tuesdays at 3:30pm July 25-August 15
Math games and activities.
Knitting: Mondays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. 3rd grade and up. Waaaaay up.
Drop in group of knitters, beginning and advanced. A teach each other sort of group. Bring your own needles, yarn provided.
Board Games: Tuesdays June 27-August 15 at 1pm. Enjoy board games, card games, and tabletop games. No registration. For all ages.
Makerspace: Fridays June 30 - August 11 from 3:30 - 4:30pm. Strictly 3rd grade and up.
Craft! Build! Discover! Create! We have a new project each week. No registration.
Lego Club: Wednesdays June 28-August 16 from 3:30-4:30pm. Grade K and up.
The Parent/Child Book Group is open to children in 4th-6th grade and a parent. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:30 - 8:30 PM. You can pick up a copy of each month's book at the Westwood Public Library. Just ask Miss Katherine, or anyone at circulation.

1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN: AThe Westwood Library is a participating library in BCCLS' 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Does it sound hard? If you read just one book a night, you will have read 365 books a year, 730 books in 2 years, and 1,095 books in 3 years. Plenty of time!
