Small Business Saturday Double Feature
Would you like to shop Small Business Saturday? Don't know what to do with the kids in the meantime? We will be showing a double feature, Descendants (2015) at 11:00 AM and Descendants 2 (2017) at 1:00 PM.
All ages, but children 3rd grade and under must be attended. No registration.
Monthly Theme Read
Each month, read a book on a theme and turn in a three to five sentence review for a chance to win a prize. October's theme is "Spooky Stories." November's theme will be "Sports Stories." You can ask Miss Katherine for recommendations.
When You Come to the Library
Ask for paper and color pencils or crayons, and draw the cover of any book you’ve enjoyed recently. We can provide references if needed. Then, write a couple sentences about why you enjoyed the book. We will display your work on our bulletin board.
Wee Ones Laptime: Fridays from 10:30 - 11:00 AM.
Stories, songs, and rhymes for caregivers and children from birth to about 2 years old.
Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.
Stories, songs, and a craft for caregivers and children about 2 years old.
Preschool Storytime: Wednesdays from 1:30 - 2:30 PM and Thursdays from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.
Stories, songs, and a craft for caregivers and children about 3 - 5 years old.
Think Outside the Box
Coding Club: Twice a month on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 12/7, 12/21.
We will learn to code using Scratch with CS First. Grades 3 - 5.
Coding club is now full. You may register for the waiting list. Limit 8 participants. Plan to attend all 8 sessions.
Lego Club: Once a month on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. 9/7, 10/5, 11/30, 12/14.
Build a Lego creation on a theme. Grades K and up.
Makerspace: Fridays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM.
Craft! Build! Discover! Create! We have a new project each week. Strictly 3rd grade and up.
Reading Buddies: TBA
Reading with Sofi: TBA
The Parent/Child Book Group is open to children in 4th-6th grade-ish (and anyone else who likes the book) and a parent. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:30 - 8:30 PM. You can pick up a copy of each month's book at the Westwood Public Library. Just ask Miss Katherine, or anyone at circulation.

If you read just one book a night, you will have read 365 books a year, 730 books in 2 years, and 1,095 books in 3 years. Plenty of time!
